Ice: Well, it seems that the #1 Zelda rumor on the internet right now is about the so-called Compilation package that is supposedly coming out on the Game Cube later on this year. A lot of sites have been reporting things about it, and there are a lot of rumors, but may I remind you that nothing has been confirmed yet. I've been getting letters about these rumors for quite some time and haven't been printing them because I didn't want the rumor to spread to IZC ... but now I see no reason to fight it off since so many people are talking about it.
Tivit writes: You said on your site that the Zelda comp. is a Zelda All-Stars. That's not true. It's a special edition of the Ocarina of Time.
Ice: ... which hasn't been confirmed! Also, let me remind you of something. Nintendo is still selling N64's, and they're still selling Ocarina of Time. Sooo ... if they released the Game Cube version (which will reportedly be much better), then what reason would people have to buy the N64 version? At $199, the Game Cube isn't that much of an inconvenience.
Stargazer writes: You're missing a lot of news about the new Zelda compilation.
Ice: There has been little real news on it, just little hints. Some that say it'll never happen and it never existed, and some that say that it's on the way. Nothing official, and nothing even convincing, so I don't think there's anything worth printing.
Tammi writes: Zelda: Ocarina of Time Special Edition for the Game Cube is official now. It's even in magazines and on all the other Zelda sites.
Ice: As far as I know, there have only been two magazines in which it was featured. One of them only gave vague references to some current rumors, and the other wrote a very wobbly paragraph, which I'll retype here. I'm going to put important words in bold.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that there's a new, non-cel shaded Zelda in the works for GameCube. The package is said to be a compilation, and some sources claim that it's an updated version of Ocarina of Time with GameCube-style graphics and elements that had to be left out of the N64 original. The game is said to come on three discs; one disc for the game, one for a behind-the-scenes documentary, and one full of classic Zelda music."
Now I've read enough of Nebula's UFO articles to know shaky rumors when I hear them, and even something that the writer isn't even sure if they believe, and that's what it sounds like to me.Yurma54: writes: wats on the zelda compilation
Ice: Nothing has been confirmed, and it's existence isn't even confirmed, but there are two reports. One is the Ocarina of Time package described above. The other is a set of Zelda remakes, probably Zelda 1 and 2 (NES), Zelda 3 (SNES), and Zelda 4 (GB). There's been hints that Zelda 3 is coming out on the Game Boy Advance ... if so, that makes the compilation even less likely.
Bobby writes: besides editorials where's all-stars info? on the site
Ice: Well, besides editorials, I don't have any except for in these letters sections. It's just a rumor right now, that's all. But it looks like I'm going to have to put something up before all you people revolt against me. Look for it soon.
